Nach einem Herzinfarkt sind die cardialen Troponine (cTnT und cTnI) im Blut etwa ab 3 bis 8 Stunden nach Beginn der Schmerzen nachweisbar. Es gibt Fälle, bei denen sich das EKG nur wenig oder gar nicht verändert, da werden dann die Laborwerte wie Troponin sehr wichtig.
